Kathleen has been with BHCB since 1994, focusing on business and individual tax preparation, planning, compliance, and research. She often deals with businesses with complex tax and multistate filings and enjoys providing accounting assistance to clients throughout the year. Kathleen is dedicated to being a leader and mentor to the firm’s team members. Her client base includes manufacturers, service companies, and medical and legal practices. She currently leads the firm’s state and local income tax group. Kathleen is a member of the AICPA and the CTCPA and graduated from Southern Connecticut State University. She volunteers for the New Haven Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and a local nonprofit arts foundation. Kathleen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, listening to music, and cheering on her favorite sports teams, especially UConn basketball.

Ryan joined BHCB in 2012 after graduating from Quinnipiac University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He specializes in accounting and auditing services, with expertise in multi-employer union benefit plans, senior living communities, and for-profit organizations. Ryan obtained a master’s degree in accounting and taxation from the University of Hartford and became a CPA in 2017. He is a member of the CTCPA. Ryan serves as a board member and Supervisory Committee member for the New Haven County Credit Union, finance committee co-chair for ManufactureCT, a non-profit organization supporting manufacturers in the Greater New Haven Area, and a director of Goodwill of Southern New England. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys supporting community initiatives and spending time with his family.

Jennifer has been in public accounting for over 20 years. She joined BHCB in 2015 and became a Partner in January 2022. She specializes in accounting and auditing, particularly in employee benefit plans, including multi-employer union benefit funds. Jennifer also has expertise in manufacturing and continuing care retirement communities. She serves on the Employee Benefit Plans Committee and is a member of the CTCPA and the AICPA. Jennifer currently serves as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors of Orange Little League and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Orange Chamber of Commerce. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and resides in Orange, CT with her husband and two sons. Jennifer enjoys spending time at the hockey rink or baseball field with her boys.

Nicholas is a Client Services Partner at BHCB, specializing in taxation and compliance for closely held businesses, including corporations, partnerships, LLCs, and individuals. He serves a wide range of industries, including medical practices, retail, personal service companies, labor organizations, and foreign entities. Nicholas joined the firm in 1991 and became a Partner in January 2010. He received his accounting degree from the University of New Haven in 1989. Nicholas is a member of the AICPA and the CTCPA, as well as the Personal Financial Planning (PFP) section of the AICPA and the Connecticut Medical Group Managers Association. He serves as Treasurer/Secretary for Literacy Volunteers of Greater New Haven and the New Haven County Credit Union. Nicholas enjoys spending time with his family, restoring muscle cars, drag racing, and attending dance competitions.

Shari has over 35 years of experience specializing in taxation. She joined BHCB in 2000 and has developed expertise across various industries, focusing on corporate, partnership, LLC, and individual tax matters. As a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Shari excels in guiding clients through the setup and maintenance of their accounting systems. Shari holds dual degrees in Accounting and Management Information Systems from the University of Buffalo. She is an active member of the AICPA and the CTCPA. Passionate about community service, Shari has contributed her leadership to numerous local civic and charitable organizations and has served on various boards and committees. In her leisure time, Shari enjoys golf, reading, staying active, and cherishing moments spent with her family.

Sharon joined BHCB in 2006 and became a Partner in January 2016. She specializes in state and local taxation issues, providing expert accounting services to corporations, partnerships/LLCs, not-for-profit organizations, and individuals. Her focus includes U.S. reporting of foreign business and investment activity. Sharon is a member of the AICPA and the CTCPA. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1998 and obtained her accounting education at Golden Gate University and the University of San Francisco. Sharon is based out of the firm’s New Haven office and lives in Hamden, where she serves on the board of the Community Investment Corporation. She enjoys cooking, relaxing with her family, and reading.

Jay joined the firm in 2003 and became a Partner in January 2015. He specializes in accounting and auditing, with expertise in not-for-profit organizations, employee benefit plans, professional services organizations, manufacturing, and continuing care retirement communities. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner. Jay serves on the Non-Profit Committee of the CTCPA and is a member of the AICPA, CTCPA, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). He currently serves on the Board of Directors as the Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee and Secretary of The APT Foundation, Inc., as First Vice Chairman of Goodwill of Southern New England, and as President of the New Haven Museum.

Peter has been with the firm since 1986 and became a Partner in January 1993. His expertise spans accounting, tax, auditing employee benefit plans, personal financial planning, and consulting. Peter is a member of the AICPA and the CTCPA. He currently serves on the Connecticut Society’s Committee and is a past Chairman and current member of the Employee Benefits Committee. Peter is also on the Board of Directors of the Elm City Club in New Haven and is a member of the New Haven Chamber of Commerce. He serves as Treasurer of the Gateway Community College Foundation. Peter graduated from Quinnipiac College in 1984 and received a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the University of New Haven in 1990.
